Danbooru

URGENT, Deletion request of all posts from the artist Chimaki

Posted under General

This is a request to delete all art of the Japanese artist Chimaki-san (Since is not one picture but all their works uploaded so far, I thought best to make a new Forum Topic instead to send it to current threads, if I was wrong, I apologize). I'm not the artist, but they have asked me to do this favor.

It has been a troublesome week with western-Twitter-reposting-bot-accounts in the Girls und Panzer Japanese community. They have been really uncomfortable and disgusted from having their art being reposted. Some of these accounts use 4chan as source to upload pictures, so I have no possible way to stop these ones actions except from reporting them on Twitter itself.

But there are some who link the work of the pictures to Danbooru. On an attemp to stop "bots" accounts that use danbooru to repost their works Chimaki-san themself told me to ask on Danbooru to delete their posts.

If you're wondering why the artist didn't made a copyright report themself is because they're worried they can't prove the ownership.

Chimaki-san, expressing if they'll be able to fill the copyright post properly:

I will also keep contact here if any other artist from the Japanese Garupan Community wants their art deleted in the future.

Refer to Disclaimer:English or Disclaimer:Japanese for instructions on how to go about requesting the removal of an artist's work. Bottom-line though, only the artists themselves can request to have their pictures removed. However, as it says in the disclaimer, it should be emphasized that removing an artist's work will significantly limit the viewing and appreciation of their work from international fans.

The person in question has already pointed out that to me. They, as an individual wants the removal of their art and will recommend other artist on the same situation to do so. However, the intention is not to remove art on a massive way, since one of the reason of doing fanart is for other people to enjoy it too.

Thanks for the links, I'll give them to the artist.

Yeah, there's really nothing stopping the bots from just grabbing the art from Pixiv instead, if the person who runs it really wants it. Bots are going to bot. At least Danbooru gives proper attribution and direct links to the original art.
