TK (Takotsuboya) and His Works

Posted under General

Okay, everyone. I know you guessed what this topic is about, but I'd like to tell you guys that he, actually, is nice. If you all ask, I'll explain.

Two months ago or so, I happened to come across one of Takotsuboya's pics here, allowing me to see the wiki about him. I've read that he's an "artist infamous for his rather twisted doujin plots" and he's "highly believed he tried to go legit/non-doujin but failed and these plots are him lashing out". While I may agree with what it said, I had doubts whether it was true or not. So I did the only thing that comes in mind: putting the rumors and beliefs to the test by contacting him on Pixiv.

I was expecting him to be busy or something, and I'm not sure whether contacting him is the right choice. To my surprise, he contacted me, thanking me for the message and told me that he's criticized but none interfered and also said that he still lives by the writing of the doujin.

I asked him if he did a lot of doujinshis that are lighthearted or are not dark. He told me that he has done a lot of those stuffs in the past. From what the link he sent to me says, he made lighthearted doujinshis starting from 1997 to 2005 or 2009 or so; since the start of the 2010s, you may have seen the dark-themed KanColle, K-On and Girls und Panzer doujinshis. He told me to show everyone, including all users HERE in , his past works - a request that I took it upon myself. You can find it here: http://takotuboya.jp/postmail/postmail.html

This proves my belief that he doesn't sound too negative. By contacting him, the rumors and beliefs are considered FALSE AND DEBUNKED. I know what you people think, but you should not think hard of him. Just because you don't liked his 2010s doujins doesn't mean his plots has him lashing out nor his pre-2009 doujins are dark! That's outright rude! Please, everyone, for my sake, if you see it in your hearts, please contact him, but please, don't be harsh towards him.

Updated

He's talking about TK (Takotsuboya)...

Let me just say that items in the wiki may not expressly represent the views of the community, and perhaps only the views of a single user. It was @StriderTuna that wrote that particular wiki entry, and it's pretty far off base from what's expected to be in an artist entry (see howto:artist and template:artist). All wiki entries regardless of type should be objective. Listing what an artist likes to draw is acceptable (though it should still be objective), but listing opinions or rumors is not.

I'll be fixing the wiki entry in order make it better in line with a typical artist entry.

Edit:

Fixed the wiki. Feel free to adjust as needed.

On behalf of all those who have no idea who this artist is, is there some sort of serious matter that urgently needs to be addressed? And exactly what "rumors and beliefs" are we talking about?

Edit: never mind; I was looking in vain for a takotsuboya tag and didn't see what the fuss was about.
