[Feature Idea] User's Last Edit At

Posted under Bugs & Features

I've seen a number of sites that have this, and it would be a lot easier than going through a persons edits (which will time out if it was long enough ago) to figure out when a user was last active.

Basically, it would detail when a user last used the credentials for that account (to include session credentials). If it's within a certain time period... say within 5 minutes, then it would list that user as being online.

I'm not sure if API usage should trigger the above though...?

How about instead it just lists the time of the last edit you made...? That way, browsing would still be private, but you wouldn't need to visit several different pages (which are already public) or have the difficulties that sometimes comes with that like I mentioned in the OP (e.g. timing out).

But can't you just look through the others categories on an user's profile?

Yeah, but like I mentioned in the OP there are around 10 or more categories of page items to visit and check... and if the user hasn't been active in over a year, many if not most of those pages will time out. So rather than a user having to jump through multiple hoops to get at the information they're looking for, just provide that information on their profile page.
