The "ecchi" tag can die

No, but it means it needs cleaned up, and likely it will get corrupted again in the future.

It's not likely that someone would mass tag moe or hentai unless it's a vandal. It's pretty manageable.

Edit: I've gone off-topic. It's about the ecchi tag. Sorry.

I agree with getting rid of it, its too broad of a horizon. Id say 80% of the "safe" material is more or less ecchi as is, so tagging something ecchi doesn't slim a search which is more of the point of tagging things, to find specifically what your looking for. If your looking to just browse people can just click the "Posts" link at the top of the web page. That majority will be ecchi anyway.

The images I have uploaded are almost all safe since I dont want to risk uploading a double explicit image without being able to verify that its not a double and I dont tag any of my images with ecchi for the very same reason as I wrote above.

Quess suggested there was an appropriate use of the 'hentai' tag. I just did a quick scan through there and couldn't find anything currently referring to hentai as a concept. Does anybody know of any posts that should keep the tag, or should 'hentai' just get nuked as well?

I did a quick scan, too. I think it's safe to purge. I was just against it being aliased or blocked anyway.

Well, it probably should be removed. But in return I think the rating system should be more... specified or simplified. There are tons of "questionable" rated uploads, who are actually safe.

So, it could be toned down to simply worksafe and non-safework pictures. What both mean could be discussed later.

EDIT: Bah, didn't see it was already exterminated. Well, I guess I can leave my suggestion here anyway.

'hentai' has been purged... for now

The problem with this is that then you would have to pick either safe or explicit to go with by default, and people searching the default would get a bunch of noise. {non-safe, unrated, safe} or {unrated, explicit, questionable, safe} might make sense though, with 'unrated' being the default catch-all.

No. Denied. Go away. Conflating everything into non-safe would be a horrible data loss and I would personally send a hitman after you if it ever happened. Besides, your proposal wouldn't help with anything, as the pics you're talking about are 'questionable' because they weren't actually rated (the rating system wasn't in place in the beginning). So you'd have exactly the same problem and lost data.
