Was they're any different between downloading it from the source and downloading it from a local copy?

Best piece of news I ever did here about DanbooruUp.

BTW, does Danbooru now snatch the link to the largest copy available from a specific Pixiv link regardless on what link you gave it?

It only concerns the Firefox dialogue, uploading from local will be slower on a slow line, and bypasses the Pixiv URL rewriting.
Chrome just uses the normal upload page, which should rewrite Pixiv medium URLs to the large version.

New version 0.3.8 released. Tell your friends! :p

Adds:

  • Firefox 4 compatibility
  • Option to download image from source instead of uploading from local copy.
  • Extra tag types for other boorus.
  • Packaged as extensions for Chrome and Opera to ease installation and circumvent the quota issue.
  • "Upload to Danbooru" context menu option in Chrome.
  • Some minor bugfixes

I had to disable threading in Firefox 4, so the GUI might be a tiny bit more sluggish.

The site autocompletion doesn't get along with *.imouto.org built-in autocompleter, so you'll probably want to disable the site injection if you're using it there.

Ahh, good to see somebody did it. I actually started working on autocompletion for Chrome a good while ago, but stopped because I ran into stupid bugs while trying to populate the DB. I still don't quite get what triggers it, but apparently my code did every time.

It's very buggy here, though. It stops showing the completion candidates if you enter more than one character; I have to backspace to get the popup to show, and then it disappears again if you type more characters.

Also, it seems there's no completion in the Edit tags area, is that intentional?

I'm afraid I can't reproduce that. If you don't mind, any information you could give regarding operating system, Chrome version, what other extensions or scripts you are using, and whether there are any error messages in the console would be helpful.

Now that the script is packaged as a Chrome extension, do you think you could consider the following nice-to-haves?

  • Make the "Upload to Danbooru" context menu item optional (see the AdBlock+ extension to see how this can be done).
  • Consider implementing the options panel in an extension-provided options page.
  • Give the extension an icon, as no icon appears for it in chrome://extensions.
  • Upload the extension to the official Chrome extensions website.

Thanks.

Cheers! danbooruUP is the lastest reason makes me stay at Fx3. I can delete it right now :D

It listens very useful.. any chance to add this function to danbooruUP? (for other sites such as oreno.imouto)

I've checked it on a completely fresh profile, and it seems to work fine with Chromium/Chrome 8 (8.0.552.224 is the one I tested), but not Chromium 10 (10.0.628.0 and earlier, there's no corresponding Chrome available yet).

On another note, could you please add "rating:e" etc. to the completion candidates? 90% of what I type in the search box is "<artist> + rating:e".

I've found that the auto-completion script remembers the arguments for tags like "rating: if the tags are used in tagging or searching. E.g. I search for posts I uploaded using the "user:" tag and it completes my name after "user:" is typed.

Which is completely useless in my case. If I've typed "rating:" already, completing "e" is not gonna help me in any way.

Option to download image from source instead of uploading from local copy.

--About this: when I choose to upload from source, it still has the process of "reading img xxx" even if I don't select the check duplicate option. I don't think the process is neccesary; otherwise it won't help too much for bad net.

BTW, it seems Image Hashing is useless (at least for Firefox) so maybe we could remove it.

Using this with Chrome 8 on Windows Vista and it is doing strange things to my Back button. About 1/5th of the times that I click the Back button (or use Backspace or Alt+Left), it skips over from 1 to as many as 5 of my previously visited pages, e.g. sending me back to page 2 of the comments when clicking Back from page 4. ("Skips over" is slightly inaccurate; the pages aren't there even if I right-click the Back button before going back, as though they weren't even recorded in the first place.) The error doesn't seem to depend on how long I've stayed on the page, what portion of the site I'm on, or anything else I've been able to work out.

Seems like I was hitting this bug.
Fixed, new version 0.3.8.2.

Have you considered making it auto-updateable?

I have, I'm just too lazy and don't want to figure out the hosting, or I'd have done it for Firefox long ago.

It's not hard, just generate a new bit of XML as a part of your build, and then serve that XML. That's all.

There seems to be a bug. When used with FF4b11 the tag completion still works in the upload window, but only there.

A suggestion: Please include the possibility to add to a pool.

Great tool.

For the time being you can add things to pools by adding pool:#### (pool number on the pool's page) or by name in the form pool:replace_spaces_with_underscores

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 12
