Gumi (VOCALOID)

Earlier this month, Internet Software company’s next Vocaloid virtual idol was revealed to be voiced by Nakajima Megumi (Ranka Lee of Macross F). This week we find out that the new software, entitled 「megpoid」, will be released June 26th — retail price: 15,750 yen. The new Vocaloid character is named GUMI and was designed by manga artist Yuuki Masami (of Mobile Police Patlabor and Birdy the Mighty fame).

I've put her under gumi_(vocaloid) for now, since there's an artist named gumi already. The artist appears to use the name gumidoro as well, so should we change the artist to gumidoro and the VOCALOID to gumi?

A vocaloid should never have a qualifier unless they pull something stupid like naming one sakura or some other short and stupidly ambiguious name.

That's true, all major VOCALOID characters will inevitably have a good number of fanart. The artist can easily be moved to gumi_(artist) if needed.

Just out of curiosity, why is she called gumi and not megpoid?

I understdand its from her name Megumi, or is Gumi what the website mentions?

There were two different artists under the gumi tag. I separated them and moved them out of gumi, into gumichoco and gumi_shinou.

Gumi is now typed to char: and I moved the gumi_(vocaloid) images under it.

Yes, the site says her name is GUMI.
