When I saw the trailer I fully expected it to flop. i would personally enjoy the anime but I didn't think it would do well enough to get any kind of traction especially with chained soldier airing in the same season so imagine my surprise when actually it ended being AoTS.

We still have 3/4 of the year left and you're going to call this AoTS, now?
With Code Geass and Spice & Wolf coming back from the dead like Gandalf the White, Oshi no Ko hankerin' for seconds, a super-sized promo for Calli's new song, Tatsuki Fujimoto's Look Back, Frieren and Apothecary Diaries killing it, Dandadan wanting to make a splash, and more?

You are a far braver man than I.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, what does a Vtuber who can't rap do with anime?

It might be. I think there's an overlap between flaws in quick/sketchy digital art (like elements disappearing due to layering) and what people perceive to be AI artifacts. I might have jumped the gun a bit with this one, I should have probably posted in the AI thread first.

Yeah, I'd much rather we have some sort of discussion on it, and if all this is one person's hunch, mass appeal these to give them a second chance. I think most approvers (myself included), just resign anything tagged "AI-generated" to its death, which really isn't fair to the artist if it's only based on one person's unilateral hunch.

What is the evidence that this artist's work is AI generated? It's not mentioned as such on their Misskey or Pixiv sites. I'm not seeing obvious AI give-aways in it. I see that all their past work has been flagged and nuked too, but no discussion as to what the rational was (unless I'm missing something). We really should require some sort of evidence before blanket banning artists.

Nothing particularly damning about this one, but the rest of the """artist's""" work is pretty blatant.

having bad character traits doesn't take away from the fact that she's pretty much unbeatable in her universe.

You need to expand your worldview, just because the main character is overpowered doesn't mean that it's a generic power fantasy - just look at One-Punch Man.
Most of the problems that Frieren and her friends have to solve aren't the kind that can be beat into submission with a saturation attack.

and the fact that she doesn't learn about the basics of human emotion and how to be more human within the first century of her life honestly takes me out of it, that and the fact that she has no parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, or siblings to perhaps teach her these basic facts from early on in her life so she won't have to struggle so hard with it in the current story.

All of her village was killed by the demons when she was a kid, you asshole.
But you'd know that if you watched the show.

imagine a slice of life western cartoon of post-infinite crisis Superman, it's like that, not very interesting to me.

That actually sounds kind of interesting. And that you don't like it is very indicative of your under-developed taste.

hell, she should've learned how to be human through the journey she had with the hero party itself, was there no character progression or character development during those supposedly very dangerous and tough 10 years of adventuring?

Your imagination is lacking. A race of mega long-lived people wouldn't have the same sense of urgency as us, who barely manage to reach 100 at the best of times. Their culture, upbringing, mentality would all be different.
So, I can imagine that she would take the ten years she spent with Himmel very lightly because to her it's a drop in the bucket.

See this is what I mean when I call it "generic" or "half-decant", Tolkien would've filled in that story and would've made a masterpiece out of it along with extra stories that go into extensive detail about every twig, branch & rock so much as glanced upon along the journey.

You can't criticize a show for not revealing the cards up it's sleeve when you haven't watched it. We get glimpses of Frieren's past and her adventures as it progresses.
You praise Tolkien for having a very rich and detailed history of events but I bet you haven't bothered to actually read any of it.

exactly, demons, basic Magic the Gathering demons

WRONG AGAIN! These and the basi-bitch demons you know! They don't understand humans any better than Frieren.
They don't form family units, they only use words like "love" and "honor" as tools to fool humans into letting down their guard, they can't imagine that someone would hide their power at all times.

I stopped watching because I got the overall gist of the plot

Bet you a mill you didn't.

Holy shit you are mentally ill.

L taken, you've given me enough info of the series to pique my interest so I'll watch it at some point, but with that being said my original point still stands, a mage without revival and grinding is not beating a god like this.

You can beat Elden Ring without upgrading the gear you start with or gaining a single level and without dying once. Doing so is just as canon an outcome as dying a thousand times and grinding to max level.

Don't even start with "but that's not realistic", neither is instantly learning spells or being an expert in every weapon you pick up without training. "Realistically", someone in the Tarnished's position would use the same fighting style the whole journey, unless it took them years to do it, and "realistically" someone like the Tarnished could never defeat the Elden Beast. "Realistically" dying over and over would break a person (that's even demonstrated repeatedly in the Souls games). Nothing about this situation is realistic, so why is Frieren held back by "logic" when nothing in Elden Ring is logical and everything is contrived by gameplay mechanics?

I'm not so sure about the "ใ‚นใƒˆใƒผใƒณใจๆฃ’" / "stone and stick" reference in the lower right. As a phrase the only references I can find are a type of pendant earrings and Minecraft guides... If it's not an idiom or reference to something else, I'm not sure I'm seeing what the artist is.

Could just mean that she's not very curvy. It fits with his observations about the rest of her figure.

    @Shinjidude
"ใ‚นใƒˆใƒผใƒณใจ" seems to be a protracted version of "ใ‚นใƒˆใƒณใจ," "with a heavy thud." I'm guessing it's meant to imply how her legs are so stick-skinny that it feels like a rapid, steep drop down to her feet.

I'm surprised the grass child doesn't like seafood much, but seeing Klee get told like that... she has no choice but to consign herself to crab (it tastes weird not gonna lie. not "weird" weird, but fish mixed with rubbery-ish texture)

Wait till you find out Morax don't like seafood either, due to a certain traumatic experience back in the Archon Wars

There's enough to get it from what's there buuuuut...
This is very likely in the looping dream that occurs in the Sumeru archon quest where most of it's inhabitants are trapped in a looping dream of the Sabzeruz Festival, Nahida's birthday, in this dream Nahida can be present as it's a shared consciousness of her people made from her previous incarnation's power but she makes herself invisible in case someone from the Akademiya would see her and they could somehow remove her that and Nilou is quite fond of the Lesser Lord Kusanali and is also the host for the looping dream so she could be aware of things she shouldn't be and even manifests something without realizing she couldSo invisible Nahida might just be caught a bit off-guard

A bit of correction: Sabzeruz Festival is to celebrate the God of Flower, one of the 3 major deities in Sumeru along with the King of the Desert and the Dendro Archon. Other languages of the game even put it as literally "Flower God's Birth Festival".

Either way, that douche Azar saw fit to shut it down due to being a repressive asshole. Not to mention he forced Nilou to relive that traumatic moment OVER AND OVER AGAIN because she dared to celebrate Kusanali's birthday. I don't think even Signora was THAT cruel.

The Fatuss, while ruthless in their schemes, are still trying to do what they think is right in the least damaging way possible.
So they do trade for each Gnosis so far (except for the Anemo Archon's) instead of doing things like stealing or violent solutions.
They might trick or use people roughly this time around though....
